During this half-day session, children will plan, make and evaluate their own chess board. They will be guided through each stage and shown how to use a variety of tools in a safe way. Children can expect to use saws, craft knives, and have the opportunity to smooth parts of wood using abrasive paper. Learners will develop perseverance, concentration and resilience through focused work which requires them to work on problems manually.
