Over a half-day session, children will plan, make and evaluate their own wind chime. They will be guided through each stage and shown how to use a variety of tools in a safe way. During the lesson, children will use manual drills, saws, pipe cutters, and have the chance to smooth parts of wood using abrasive paper. Learners will develop perseverance, concentration and resilience through focused work which requires them to work on problems manually.

Due to the complexity of designs, this workshop is suitable for year 5 and year 6 only.
